BIOGRAPHY
Ben Johnson (born May 19, 1985) is a pianist/guitarist/keyboardist/composer/producer/artist from the Chicagoland area.
His early musical influences include Classical composers, such as Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, and Rachmaninoff. He later became interested in heavy metal and virtuoso guitar players. Today, Ben considers all musical styles fair game and will rarely turn down an interesting project.
Ben studied audio engineering at Columbia College in Chicago. In 2006 Ben and his brother Adam were commissioned to write the musical score for the acclaimed "911: Press For Truth," which was shown in numerous languages throughout the world and even viewed by President Barack Obama.
Currently, Ben is the keyboardist, orchestrator, and producer for the Chicago-based progressive heavy metal band Divinity Compromised, whose debut album is due mid summer 2010. Ben is also involved in another progressive metal project with virtuoso guitarist Jeff Treadwell, in which Ben is playing guitar, keyboards, and producing.
